  1. Recently, one of my clients requested a solution to identify the last login date of a Power BI user and have it delivered as a scheduled report. This information can be retrieved either from the Power BI audit logs or Azure AD user sign-in records. To achieve this, I leveraged the AzureADPreview module in PowerShell. Using its cmdlets allowed efficient extraction of user sign-in activity. The final output was structured into a report that could be scheduled and shared as required.

  2. Tracking user activity in Power BI using AzureADPreview and audit logs is a smart approach for monitoring last login dates and ensuring proper reporting. Automating this with PowerShell makes it easy to generate scheduled reports and keep administrators informed about user access patterns. While running scripts or reviewing audit data on a laptop or in an office setting, having a comfortable champs hoodie can make long sessions of coding or troubleshooting more cozy and focused, especially during late-night work or colder environments when reviewing logs and sign-in activities.
